About Buddy's PALS

Mission

The mission of Buddy's PALS is to support the education of young people in our community. It takes a village to raise every child, and Buddy's PALS promises to be there to provide comfort and growth every step of the way.

What is an educational comfort dog?

Our educational comfort dogs are highly trained and certified with their owner as a dog/handler team to provide comfort in classrooms and other educational environments. Educational comfort dogs are personal pets that work together with their handler to provide comfort and support in learning environments. Our teams volunteer in educational settings such as K-12 schools, colleges and universities, libraries, and other partner organizations.

History of Buddy's PALS

In 2019, Buddy and owner Lolie Fabela founded Buddy's PALS Pet Assisted Learning in DeWitt, Michigan. Buddy brought joy and comfort to many children and through Lolie's passion and Buddy's love for kids, Buddy's PALS was born.

Buddy's PALS now has over 40 handler teams in the Greater Lansing area that volunteer in schools, libraries, and other partner organizations across the region and is expanding to other areas in Michigan.

Buddy's PALS achieved 501(c)(3) status in 2022.
